Triune LOVEs me
Courage in the Storm
Show Notes Transcript

In this episode, we will explore a word from our Bible word study and a mediation story that unfolded..

I will ask you do you think you are courageous? When trouble arises do we run to help? Or do we run away and hide ?? Life has many challenges, health, finances, relationships. During my life, I have witnessed single parents having the courage to step up to the plate for their children time and time again. I have seen friends come and stand firm and offer a shoulder when life gets messy. I have seen families hold each other up during life trials.  I have witnessed courage in the face of life-threatening illnesses.

I do believe courage comes in all sizes from the simplest gesture to the biggest heroic event. But where and how do we get the strength to execute this type of courage? Follow me as we explore this word further.

Speaker 1:

In life. We all know that some things can happen unexpectedly. Some may ultimately change your heart and shift your direction. This is a journey of love and how the Holy Spirit did exactly that. This story will walk through the 24 months of an incredible soul felt journey with God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. We will share in many events that could be considered spirit, led, or miracles. This is Triune LOVEs loves me with Lori Garner.

Speaker 2:

Hi, and welcome back. This is L ori and I'm so happy you could join me again today. For those of you who have been listening, I a m so happy. You've become part of my journey. And for those of you who are new to listening, please go back and listen to my other episodes. It actually is my testimony. And what brought me to you, the listener, it's an amazing journey. And I thank Him for that. Now, as I always say, grab your favorite cup of coffee, your favorite chair, and let's share this time. And as I looked at this episode and thought, what do I have to share with my listeners today? I thought, well, we're just finished such a beautiful time of year. Christmas to me is an amazing moment where we get to share the birth of Jesus. The one we love and our loved ones, our family and friends, As that comes to a close. Does it actually come to a close or do we take that and look to our future to celebrate the new year? Do we look back grateful? Do we say we've been through a lot, but we've weathered the storm and here we are ready to take on the future? With that in mind, I went to my Bible word study and I found a word and I also found a meditation that happened, actually, it was my very first meditation that I had and I thought it was very appropriate for this time. So I'm going to share both of those with you today. And as we travel on this journey together today, the word that came to my mind was"change" but not everybody accepts change so readily. Some people are very scared of change. Some people look at it like it's an opportunity to do wonderful things. It's all the mindset, but no matter what type of change happens in your life, I do feel it takes courage to face it and go through it. So the word I thought I would share with you, my listener today is courageous. We all need a little courage to get through each day.

:

The meaning of courageous, not deterred by danger or pain. Brave

Speaker 2:

The word Courageous is used six times in the King James version, Bible. What is it in our human makeup that makes some of us courageous in times of trouble. And some of us crumble like a cookie. Some are willing to give up their own lives to save someone they don't even know. When trouble arises. Do we run for help or do we run away and hide? Life has many challenges. There's health, financial relationships just to name a few. During my life, I have witnessed single parents having the courage to step up to the plate for their children, time and time again. I have seen friends come and stand firm and offer a shoulder when life got messy, I have seen families hold each other up during life trials. I have witnessed the beauty and courage in the face of life-threatening illness. I do believe courage comes in all sizes from the simplest gesture to the biggest heroic even. But where and how do we get the strength to execute this type of courage? In my quest to understand the word, I look to the people that in my opinion have shown this type of courage. And I found that each one has a uniqueness about the act itself. However, there's one thing that I have witnessed. It is not seen in all who display courage. There are some that have a beautiful piece that can be seen and felt when you're just around them. How do they have such peace, such courage, such love. There does seem to be a common denominator. It seems to come from a deep place within their soul. It is a God-given unexplainable peace and strength that sometimes can boggle the mind. I do feel we should keep God closer than our own skin, because life is fragile and having Him in our lives before we are put through any tests, definitely gives us the Divine edge. Don't wait, have the courage to stand up and make Him the center of your life and reap the rewards now! He truly is the gift of life. It's him. It's always him.

Speaker 3:

Now I will admit to you my listener, that doing my podcast and sharing a peek into my soul has made me a little frightened, has given me hesitation and has made me say, Oh my goodness, people think I'm a little strange. So it has taken courage. And where did it come from? I know it wasn't for me. I know he gave me a story to share. So that's why I'm here. Now. I'm going to share a meditation with you that happened very early in my walk. It actually was the first meditation that gave me a story to share, and I thought it was perfect for this particular episode. So let me set the stage for those of you who have been with me since the beginning, you already know that I sit in a comfortable chair. I listen to music, I kick it back and get very relaxed and I pray and a story unfolds.

:

So let's begin.

Speaker 2:

The narrator began to prep. The usual comforting dialogue and music began to play so softly in the background. As he began our journey, he said, go deeper within yourself. Be free. In my mind's eye, I saw a vision of a ship with white billowing sails. The ship was made of cedar wood like boats of long ago. The ship's wheel was positioned right in the center of the boat and it was made of the same wood. It had six handles that were beautifully carved and spaced perfectly around the barrel. And Jesus was at the helm. And then the narrator said, see, and large diamond light crystal rotating. And at that time I could see a multifaceted diamond in a lighthouse on the starboard side of the ship. We sailed right by it, leaving our home port behind.

:

Jesus and turned to me and said, take the wheel. This journey is yours. I promise I will always be by your side, but I will not sail the ship for you. I acknowledged His request and moved i nto h old the wheel and began to steer the ship. He positioned himself to my right. We were sailing along so effortlessly. As we glided through the water, I could feel a warm ocean breeze and the salt, as it gathered small crystals on my skin, it was a picture perfect momen. B ut we could see a storm blowing, just a short distance ahead. I quickly put on my bright yellow rain gear to prepare for what was to come. I then stood with both feet planted, firmly on the deck. And I grabbed the wheel firmly with both hands. As I brace myself for the storm that we were about to encounter, Jesus was still positioned to my right. This gave me a peace in my soul.

Speaker 2:

The wind began to fiercely blow and the storm began to rage. The sea became black as night, and the waves were breaking on the deck. The lightning crack loudly in the illuminated dark sky. And I was feeling so small that fear grip my soul. I was holding on with every ounce of strength I could muster when all of a sudden a wave came crashing in and hit me so hard in the chest that I lost my grip and I lost control of the wheel. I slid backwards towards the stern and wheel began to spin out of control the ship tossed and turned in the waves. And I had lost all control. Then when I looked, Jesus had stood there strong and tall against the raging storm. He looked at me and He could see the fear in my eyes. And a very strong voice said, come come do not be afraid for I am here. And I pressed against the wind and I met him where he stood as he steadied the wheel and to my amazement, the storm suddenly stopped. The ocean became like glass, the beautiful warm breeze returned and fill the sails. The ship returned to its smooth natural glide. I could see a pair of dolphins breaking the surface of the smooth waters ahead. We were sailing into a beautiful red sunset that seemed to be kissing the horizon. And he said, it's getting dark. Get us home. Keep your eye on the lighthouse in front of you never lose focus on our father's light. It will always guide us home. He again, positioned Himself to my right. He had his strong hands clasped behind his back. He stood there like a soldier positioned ready for any battle that would come. His head was facing forward. As he gaze into the wondrous world ahead, the wind made his hair dance softly on his face, re sailed the calm waters against a star lit sky. I could see the lighthouse in the distance and the illuminating light that was calling us home. There was such beauty in this serene peaceful moment. It was an amazing moment. The music started to fade and the meditation ended. My meditation's always seem to have some type of lesson. So I'd like to share the lesson that I learned that day have no fear. We are never alone in any storm that comes against us. Jesus has promised to always be by our side. He is positioned to help us fight any battle we may face never lose focus. Always, always look for our Father's light to guide us home. He gives us the courage to meet life, head on. Know, we only have one shot at this life. I say, do it. And I say, do it with love. And I say, do it with gusto and do it with him. Leave your Mark on this world.

:

I'd like to close this episode with a scripture, be strong and of good courage. Do not fear nor be afraid of them for the Lord. Your God. He is the one who goes with you.
