Speaker 2:

Hi, and welcome back. This is L ori and I'm so happy you could join me again today. It really does mean a lot to me that you keep coming back to listen to my story. Last week, I told you I was o ffsite and I was actually recording in a studio i n Triune, Tennessee. Well, that has not changed. I am recording again today in Triune Tennessee. The reason being is I've been on COVID lockdown and yes, I did get COVID and I'm still weathering the storm. I'd like to dedicate today's podcast to my family and my daughter they've been taking excellent care of me. And for all of you that have reached out to me and asked me how I'm doing. Thank you. You've all mean the world to me. Isolation can be a funny word. It's what we do in that time. That really matters. Um, I've been doing a lot of praying. I've been doing a lot of soul searching. I been doing some meditation and I have been so appreciative of the people around me. That's an amazing thing. So even with that, the four walls do not seem like they're closing in. As a matter of fact, you, the listener have joined me in my room. This is isolation. What do you think? I think we're fine. So grab your favorite cup of coffee. Your favorite chair, and let's share this time. The word today is promise. There are approximately 1,260 promises in the Bible. The meaning of promise to assure someone that they will definitely do give or arrange something, an undertaking to declare that something will happen while the amount of promises in the Bible is staggering. Have you ever thought how special God the father, Jesus, the son think we are?

:

Why would they even feel the need to promise us anything? They've taken the time to document the promises in the Bible for the world to see, as I study many of His promises, I am drawn to the one I love the most that God motivated by loved moved unconditionally to save His people from their sin. Does God love everyone? Yes, He does. That. He loves us unconditionally in itself is such a beautiful gift. And that is just the beginning. However, while I was reading the many promises, I could not help doing a little soul searching. And I began to ask myself some questions. What promises, if any, have I made to God? Sure, like many of us in my lifetime, I've been guilty of making bargains instead of promises, God, if you answer this prayer, I'll do this for you. How many of us can relate? However, I can say with the Holy Spirit's guidance, my heart has led me to feel a closeness with the Trinity and to a deeper understanding of the spirituality. When we truly love Him, we cannot stand in front of him with open hands, looking for what He has to offer. We must also ask Him, what can I promise you in return? When we evaluate what we have of value and what he would truly want or need from us, it's not money. It's not riches or things of this world. He is after our love, our hearts and our time. So if you've made it to the end of this word study, I say don't bargain. Just promise to love him with all of your heart, all of your soul and all of your mind and let His promise of loving you to eternity. Be the most important promise of your life. Now, before we go o nto the meditation story, let me share t his scripture with you. If we really love God, we will not be afraid of Him. We c annot love him completely and also be afraid. We would only be afraid of God if we thought he would punish us. So if someone is afraid that God will punish them, it shows that they do not completely know God's love. And you can find that in first, John chapter four, verse 18.

Speaker 2:

Now let me set the mood for the meditation. Many of you already know what I do. I go into a dark room. I kicked back in a La-Z-Boy chair. I listened to music that moves my soul and earbuds and I'm transported into a storyline. So what I'm asking you to do now is close your eyes. Take a deep breath and transport yourself into my story with me. Are you ready? As a music played my mind drifted here. I could only see my feet on a dirt gravel road. I have boots much like a Viking. I can see the tip of a sword hanging by my side. As I looked, I was surrounded by a deep green forest. The trees were so majestically tall. They had Brown rugged trunks that showed deep lines of life and leaves in so many different hues of green. There was a density of beautiful growth that parted to reveal a pond of crystal clear water. I approached the pond and then kneeled, I cup my hands to fill them with this cool water. I brought the water to my mouth to quench my parched lips and throat, the droplets of water sifted through my fingers and slowly fell returning back to the pond. The drops created a ripple effect on the smooth surface. And suddenly I was physically startled by a man's reflection in the pool water before me.

:

He seemed to appear suddenly and was standing directly behind me. I turned and I let out a deep breath and I said, Oh, it's you. I should have known. You're always with me. I stood up and hugged Him. My soul always feels safe when he's near and He spoke these words to me. I came to warn you. There are ones who would like to see you fail. So be strong. Cling to me, my beloved. You have given me your heart and soul. For this you have my promise of love. This love will protect you as you find your way. So go, go experience life and have a peace that I'm always near. And I replied, can I stay with you now, please? He said, I'm sorry, but it's not time for you to leave your home. There are many things yet to be discovered, have faith live in love in the moment, be a witness for me so others can open their hearts and find their way. I hugged him tightly and close my eyes and whispered, I love you Jesus. Please stay with me. As he caressed my head into His chest, I heard him say always my beloved. I am with you always. I promise. And the moment faded and the meditation ended. On my journey I have found out that Jesus is as close as a whisper. Just call His name. You'll see because you are His beloved.
